Hear your Warm and Fuzzy here!
Some days you wake up and you just don’t feel like trying. The weight of the world is already there, as soon as you open your eyes, and you feel it first thing. You are already wondering how you will carry your day with the very little strength that you have.
You didn’t sleep well. You fought all night with restlessness and anxiety. You had strange dreams that as you wake up, you recognize as stress dreams. Last night they just seemed weird!
There are many of your friends and family that wont understand, don’t understand. They have no idea what it takes just to get up in the mornings and getting ready to take on an average day. But then, you know, there is nothing “average” about your days anymore.
You’ve met chaos in your life. It came right to your front door and walked right in to your life and turned your world upside down. It rattled your life and shook it up and turned the top to bottom. All you know of normal anymore is that it is a cycle on the washing machine.
Why You? You ask to no one in particular and to anyone who will listen. And all you hear is silence. There are no good answers, even with the answers that you get. Your life has changed indefinitely and it is up to you to pick up the pieces and try to put it back together. Sometimes you will have the help of friends and sometimes all you have is the Master.
And He gently reminds us that He is enough.
Where do you go from here? You ask. Where will this new path take me? And how will I live my life now that everything has changed? People will leave that don’t understand where you’ve gone, and you have gone on a journey that requires all of you. You have gone and they don’t think you will come back. And you are not sure if you can come back to what your life was.
Take a deep breath. Try to accept that while you have met tragedy or life-altering events, you are going to come out
on the other side…if you just hang on. I mean, don’t give in, don’t let go, don’t give up. No matter how difficult the path is, no matter how hard life hits you and knocks you down, you have got to get back up and give it right back. You may not think you can handle the stress and the pressure, but you only have to do it right now, just for this moment. Just for the next ten minutes, as my best friend advised me when my life changed. And you come to realize that if you can do this for just ten minutes, you can get through. And subtly, things begin to change.
This storm will pass and you have heard the word, but know that it is true…you will be stronger. You already are stronger. Just don’t give up on yourself. You are surviving the winds of change and you are becoming a better person for your struggles. And who doesn’t want to be the best person they can be?
Life has a way of kicking us and knocking us down. But You can get back up. Believe it. And keep moving. There is a Japanese Proverb that says: “Fall seven times, stand up eight.”
You are persevering and your life is noticing.
