Graduation time makes me happy and weepy. My graduations from high school and college are among my top 10 moments in my life. I am reminded that I am and was loved and supported and encouraged to make a difference in this world. And I still strive to do that every day.
I am mindful of all the area graduations, Virginia Tech, Radford, Roanoke College, my alma-mater, Liberty University, Lynchburg College, University of Virginia, Sweet Briar, Hollins and of course all of the technical colleges, community colleges and high schools! Whew! That was a head-ful!
Tonight I am going to surprise a sweet friend of mine’s daughter, at her high school graduation. I am sure there
will be even more reminders there as I have spent this day reminiscing just a little bit. There are things and people I sure miss but as Kenny Chesney sings;
“Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can’t flip over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it’s worth.”
If you are a graduate or have a graduate in your house, I featured a song on today’s Story Behind The Song for our graduates and I will have a few more in the coming weeks. Graduations are spread out so I like to spread out the
good-warm and fuzzies! I hope you will enjoy them. Here’s to the class of 2015! You’re going to do great!
