June 5.2014 – Quote Of The Day

Winston Churchill

***
I don’t know what is happening to me, but I am noticing things more, a lot!
Driving in to work today I noticed all the different colors of green the trees are. I was thinking about how
cool that is, and then I drove up to one of those corners that has been adopted by a group and they plant
flowers. Beautiful.
Isn’t it amazing how life gets our attention sometimes?
I keep really listening to the lyrics of the Tim McGraw number one song, “Live Like You Were Dying” and
thinking about what are the things that I want to do, that I haven’t yet.
I am still recovering from my severe bout with pancreatitis that totally changed my life. I wont ever be
fully out of the woods, but I certainly am improving every day and I continue to learn how to take better
care of myself.
So when I get to a point that I believe I can do it, I would like to ride a bull (mechanical) named
Fu Manchu!
And I would love to hike McAfee Knob.
I would like to canoe down the New River.
I’d like to rappel. I feel like I’ve already climbed the mountain 🙂
I would love to be a speaker at a graduation ceremony.
I want to see the ponies at Chincoteague.
I want to spend a day and a night at the Greenbriar and the Homestead.
I will write a book.
How about you? Once you really start thinking about it, it becomes easy to make a list. The challenge
lies in actually doing it!
I will keep you updated on how I do with my journey and I would love to hear from you and what you
plan to accomplish.
I know they call these sort of things a Bucket List. I’m calling it a Dream list, and I believe that
dreams do come true.
Take care of you!
