Miranda Lambert leads the nominations for the CMA Awards. She has
picked up five nominations and will compete against herself  in three categories. “The House That Built Me” and “White Liar” are both up for single, video and song of the year. There are several other
country acts who are in the running for honors. Lady Antebellum
have four nominations _ one behind Lambert, who leads all acts with
five. And Zac Brown has three nominations. And there are three
performers who have a pair of nods each. Blake Shelton and Trace
Adkins fall into that category, along with newcomer Easton Corbin.
Brown’s “Toes” is up for song of the year, as is Corbin’s “A
Little More Country Than That.”  Later this morning the rest of the nominees will be announced on ABC’s “Good Morning America”. For a full list of the nominees, check it out  Online:

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will again host the event live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 10.

ABC is also airing a country special tonight. “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” features three hours of highlights from this summer’s event in Nashville. Among the artists to be appearing tonight are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert.

An honor for Wynonna Judd. She has received the Cecil Scaife Visionary Award for her humanitarian contributions to Nashville community as well as to the national and international community. Among those taking part in the event last week were Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and “American Idol” singer Danny Gokey. Proceeds from the event will help create a scholarship awarded in Wynonna’s name for
a student looking to launch a career in music.
