Reese Witherspoon, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line in 2005, joined Kenny Chesney on stage at the House of Blues in New Orleans Saturday night, where stars gathered to fund raise for Drew Brees and Matthew McConaughey’s charities, the Dream Foundation and the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation. The duo performed an acoustic version of Johnny Cash’s “Jackson.”
Alan Jackson was also a winner Sunday night (May 18) at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, though you might have missed it. Jackson’s Precious Memories: Volume II was named top Christian album in a category that was obviously awarded outside the telecast.
Actress Kristen Bell will return to host the 2014 CMT Music Awards. The fan-voted show will air live on June 4 at 8 p.m. ET. Bell previously co-hosted with Jason Aldean in 2013 and Toby Keith in 2012, but this year she will host solo.
Tuesday morning (May 20), Joe Nichols and his wife Heather welcomed another baby girl into their lives. Nichol’s tweeted ; “It’s official!” he wrote Tuesday afternoon. “At 8:06 a.m., we were blessed with our brand new baby girl, Georgia Nichols. At 7 lbs. 4 oz., her and mom are doing great.”

Even though two powerhouse females singing together seems like a no-brainer, it doesn’t happen often in country music. In 1993, Reba McEntire and Linda Davis (Hillary Scott’s mother) had a hit duet with “Does He Love You,” but this Lambert and Underwood song is the first major duet of its kind in more than two decades.
