June 30.2014 – Nashville Stars!

The King, George Strait has commanded far higher prices on the secondary sales market than hot teen acts like One Direction, or doubleheader shows from powerhouses like Jay Z and Beyoncé, and Eminem and Rihanna.

Ticket costs for the final date of Strait’s farewell tour — held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., on June 7 — had a median price on the resale market of $1,050, according to the secondary sales site VividSeats.com.

That’s enough for StubHub to dub the show the No. 1 event of the summer.

The duo American Young will be featured in ABC’s The Bachelorette at 8pm (that’s ABC 13 locally). Jon Young and our friend Kristy Osmunson will be performing “Love Is War” on the show which was filmed in Belgium!
Be sure to look for their EP that just dropped last week. It includes “Love Is War”, a cover of the Garth Brooks hit
“Thunder Rolls” and their latest single, “Wasn’t Gonna Drink Tonight”. The latter is co-written by Jon Stone along with
Lee Brice (“I Don’t Dance”) and Billy Montana (“Suds In The Bucket” for Sara Evans).

Kristy O, as she has been affectionately called, has been to Star Country a couple of times formerly with the duo
Bomshel. The girls played Star B-Q and our Women’s Expo.

Now Kristy is forging a new path with Jon as the American Young and I for one, am a fan of their music!
Check back here at the Corner in a few days as I write you a review of American Young’s EP.

A new musical, ‘Somewhere With You,’ will debut off-Broadway at the Pershing Square Signature Center in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre on July 8. Songwriter JT Harding wrote the musical, along with director Peter Zinn.

Music from Kenny Chesney and Jake Owen will be included in the musical. Harding wrote or co-wrote some of Chesney and Owen’s biggest hits, including the musical title, which was a No. 1 hit for Chesney in 2011. His other credits include Owen’s chart-topping single, ‘Alone With You,’ as well as Uncle Kracker‘s multi-platinum hit, ‘Smile.’
