Florida Georgia Line stayed atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with Stay, and Garth Brooks again held first on the Top Country Albums chart with “Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades Of Influences” for the week ending Jan. 4, 2014.
Keith Urban has released his new single, “Cop Car,” to country radio. The song follows up his last two No. 1 hits, “Little Bit of Everything” and “We Were Us,” and was co-written by Zach Crowell, Matt Jenkins and Sam Hunt. After hearing the song, Keith knew he had to record it before anyone else could cut it.
Dierks Bentley rings in each New Year with his annual Polar Bear Plunge – jumping into a freezing cold lake. Usually, he is home in Nashville and goes to nearby Percy Priest Lake for the jump. But for the past couple of years he has been in Orlando for a New Year’s Eve Show. This year, when he went to his trusty Orlando pond to take the plunge, he found an “Alligator Warning” sign posted, causing a change in plans.

To keep his annual tradition intact, he filled a kiddie pool with cold water and ice and climbed in. “No lake today; had to improvise,” he tweeted. “Improvising” turned out to be a long soak in a yellow kiddie pool full of ice.
South Carolina Stingrays are having Darius Rucker Night, tonight, in honor of Charleston’s Darius Rucker Blvd. They will be giving away Darius Rucker bobble-heads!
Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney have landed on Pollstar’s Top 20 Worldwide Tours of 2013. Taylor’s RED Tour came in at No. 8 on the list while Kenny’s No Shoes Nation Tour came in at No. 15. Swift grossed $131 million in her world-wide tour, Chesney took home $90.9 million.

Brad Paisley joins Sara Bareilles and OneRepublic as performers at Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards (1/8). Hosted by 2 Broke Girls’ Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, the show airs from Los Angeles at 9pm ET on CBS-TV.

Jake Owen is going to launch a headline tour this year, but fans will have to wait on the details.
On New Years Day, Owen tweeted, “Happy New Year y’all! Excited to announce my Headline Tour Dates on Monday and tour mates. Gonna be a great year.”

Owen’s web site currently lists four dates for him in 2014: San Antonio on Feb. 7; Virginia Beach, Va. on May 31, Buffalo, N.Y. on June 13 and Pueblo, Col. on June 21. Owen will tour behind his just released CD, “Days of Gold.”
