Jason Aldean announced on Good Morning America this morning that the 50-date Burn It Down tour, with opening acts Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr, will visit baseball stadiums nationwide. Jason said the stadium dates would take place “periodically throughout the year.” On his Facebook page, Jason promises a second announcement at MLB.com at 2:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Right now we know that he will be playing the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville on January 24th and according to the Got Country web site, he will be coming to Roanoke on May 1.2014.

At last night’s 2014 People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night (Jan. 8), and they showed a lot of love to Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw, who were big country winners. Swift was named Favorite Country Artist, McGraw picked up the prize for Country Music Icon.

Brad Paisley brought a dose of country to the 2014 People’s Choice Awards with a performance of his newest hit, ‘The Mona Lisa. At the end of ‘The Mona Lisa,’ the country crooner made his way down to supermodel Heidi Klum who snatched his hat, balancing it on top of her perfectly coiffed hair. Paisley ended the 2014 People’s Choice Awards performance sans hat — but with a standing ovation.

Joe Nichols announced earlier today on Facebook, that he and his wife Heather are expecting their second child later this year. The couple are already parents to a baby girl named Dylan River, who was born on April 17, 2012

As the debate swirls around the documentary Blackfish and its questions about SeaWorld’s treatment of orca whales, musicians are trying to steer clear.

Now Trace Adkins is the latest artist to pull out of a scheduled performance at the theme park in Orlando, Fla. Trace was slated to play the Bands, Brew & BBQ event on March 2 but just announced his withdrawal.
Previously, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Willie Nelson and others have canceled their appearances at SeaWorld.

Forbes magazine’s “30 Under 30” Hunter Hayes (22) found his way onto the list,with the magazine noting “the pop-country crossover crooner makes his ‘30 Under 30’ debut after touring with Carrie Underwood and notching three Grammy nominations last year. The magazine also recognized Taylor Swift (24), saying, “Still riding the success of her latest album, Red—which moved 1.2 million units in its opening week, the best debut since 2002—Swift pulled in $55 million over the past year.

Cole Swindell‘s debut single, “Chillin’ It,” has become the first single in all genres to garner a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2014. The single has sold more than 600,000 copies.

Swindell’s self-titled debut album will release on Warner Bros. Records on Feb. 18. Swindell is preparing to join Luke Bryan’s That’s My Kind of Night Tour, beginning Jan. 16 in Columbus, Ohio.

Tyler Farr recently shot a video tour of all his favorite Nashville spots for VEVO & A&E’s new show Crazy Hearts, which premieres next week. Crazy Hearts’ host Heather Byrd & John Rich appear as well. Crazy Hearts premiers on January 15th on A&E on 11/10C.

The Academy of Country Music and Great American Country announced today that for the sixth consecutive year, the newcomer category for the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be voted on by the fans through VoteACM.com and GACtv.com/ACM, beginning Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
The top eight (8) artists from the first round of ACM professional voting are considered semi-finalists and will compete via the Great American Country fan vote at GACtv.com, combined with the ACM professional membership vote, to determine the final 3 nominees for the award. The final 3 nominees will compete for the trophy, with a combined fan and professional membership vote to determine the winner.
