April 9.2014 – Nashville Stars!

When Miranda Lambert took the stage to claim her fifth consecutive ACM Female Vocalist award, she acknowledged the hard work and musical prowess of all her fellow nominees…except one. During her acceptance speech, she forgot to mention Taylor Swift!
But the gracious winner wasn’t going to let the moment pass without an apology. During a post-awards press conference, Lambert noted her thank-you speech misstep and mentioned that she’s already smoothed things over with Swift.
Lambert’s lapse in memory was for a great reason, though. The ‘Mama’s Broken Heart’ singer said she momentarily forgot to acknowledge Swift because she was focused on dedicating her award to some hometown friends who just lost a child.
Wade Hayes made news when he revealed his battle with stage four colon cancer in 2011 and now he’s speaking out about a second bout with the disease.
Hayes was happy to announce he was in remission in 2012, but last year the singer was once again faced with cancer — this time in his lymph nodes.
“They opened me up from stem to stern, literally,” Hayes tells Country Weekly. “They had to take a big part of my large intestine, most of my liver, part of my diaphragm out, lymph nodes, and I’ve had several small surgeries on my liver to get it repaired enough to work correctly. It was a bad deal. It was very serious. I’m probably being too brutally honest, but it’s the truth. I look like a baseball from all the scars I’ve got!”
Now he is getting healthier every day and he even has plans to go on tour this year!
Americans would rather take their teenaged daughters to see Taylor Swift in concert than Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber. That’s according to a 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair music poll of just more than 1,000 people, published in the May issue of Vanity Fair.
Toby Keith will host his 11th annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic May 16-17 benefiting the OK Kids Korral on the campus of Oklahoma Health Center in Oklahoma City. The event features a silent auction, food, entertainment and a celebrity golf tournament. The OK Kids Korral is a 25,000 square foot cost-free home for pediatric cancer patients and their families that opened last year.
Lady Antebellum were honored at last week’s Grammys On The Hill Awards (4/2) in downtown Washington, D.C. They were given the Recording Artists’ Coalition Award for their artistry and charitable efforts for children.
